Deaths in Albania need be reported within 10 days to the Albanian authorities and if a citizen dies outside of Albania, their death must be reported within one month. However, late registrations for death are allowed.
Albania Marriage Certificate
The Albania Marriage Certificate is called a Certifikate Martese which is issued by Gjendja Civile – Civil Status Office but there is no central registry of marriages in Albania. A marriage certificate can be issued in Albanian language as well as 6 other languages (English, French, Italian, Spanish, German and Russian).
Albania Divorce Certificate
There are no divorce certificates in Albania but there are divorce decrees which can be obtained from the district court where the original hearing took place.
Albania Identity Cards
The Albania Identity Card is called the Letërnjoftimi. The Letërnjoftimi is an electronic biometric ID card which is compulsory when citizens reach age of 16 in Albania. If you have their identify card this can assist us in tracing the current address for a person in Albania.
