About our China Document Procurement

China Birth Certificate
The China Birth Certificate is called a Notarial certificate (Gong Zheng Shu) which is issued Local Notary Public Office (Gong Zheng Chu). Birth certificates are issued for all births in China. Births must be registered within 2 years of the birth.
China Death Certificate
The China Death Certificate is called a Notarial certificate (Gong Zheng Shu) which is issued by Local Notary Public Office (Gong Zheng Chu). The procedure to register deaths in China varies by area and location of the death.
China Marriage Certificate
The China Marriage Certificate is called a Notarial certificate (Gong Zheng Shu) which is issued by Local Notary Public Office (Gong Zheng Chu). Marriage certificates are issued following the registration of all marriages in China, within 24 to 48 hours of the marriage taking place. Two separate certificates are issued, one for the bride and one for the groom.
China Divorce Certificate
The China Divorce Certificate is called Notarial certificate (Gong Zheng Shu) where the issuing authority is Local Notary Public Office (Gong Zheng Chu).
China Identity Cards
The China Identity Card is called the Resident Identity Card. The Resident Identity Card is first issued at school age, but it can be issued whenever the legal ascendant(s) request its issue.
Is China a member of the Hague Service Convention?
China is a signatory to the Hague Service Convention (Convention of 15 November 1965). China does not object to service under Articles 10(a), 10(b), and 10(c) within its territory.

The time it takes to retrieve documents often depends on backlog of requests at the local civil or corporate registry office. Once instructed we will aim to retrieve the documents as soon as possible and will keep you updated with progress at all times.
How do I receive the documents?
We will send the documents by email or by post/courier if the originals are required.
