India Birth Certificate 

 
The India Birth Certificate is called a Birth Certificate which is issued by Municipal authority, or any office authorized to issue birth and death certificates by the Registrar of Births & Deaths. There is no central register that records all births. For citizens born on or after 1 January 1970, it is mandatory for parents to register their child’s birth within 21 days. Late registration is allowed. 
 

India Death Certificate 

 
The India Death Certificate is called a Death Certificate which is issued by Appropriate state or municipal authorities. Deaths must be registered within 21 days. Late death registrations are accepted. Every region has its own format of death certificates. 
 

India Marriage Certificate 

 
The India Marriage Certificate is called a Marriage Certificate which is issued by Religious authorities and the offices of the Government Registrar of Marriages, which are located in the headquarters of each district. Both civil and religious marriages must be registered in India. There is no central register. Couples must register their marriage within 30 days. The authorities accept late marriage registrations. 
 

India Divorce Certificate 

 
The India Divorce Certificate is called Divorce Decree where the issuing authority is Courts of jurisdiction, Muslim religious bodies. For Islamic religious authorities, it is called the Talaqnama if initiated by the husband. If the wife initiates a divorce, it is called a Khulanama. A mutual divorce is called a Mubaratnama. Some Indian states recognize Talaqnamas issued by a Qazi or competent Islamic authority while others require a court order. In most cases, a court needs to issue a declaratory suit to recognize a Khulanama or Mubaratnama. 
 

India Identity Cards 

 
The India Identity Card is called the Aadhaar. The Aadhaar ID number is a digital biometric identity issued voluntarily to residents of India, and can be issued in card form, but it is not compulsory. 
 

Is India a member of the Hague Service Convention? 

 
India is a signatory to the Hague Service Convention (Convention of 15 November 1965). India objects to service under Articles 10(a), 10(b), and 10( c ) within its territory.
