The Mali Birth Certificate is called a Birth Certificate or Le Jugement Suppletif (court declaration) which is issued by The civil office of the Commune. Certified copies may be obtained from any civil office, upon presentation of the original. Many Malians only have a court declaration with an approximate date of birth. 
 

Mali Death Certificate 

 
The Mali Death Certificate is called a Death Certificate or Certificat de Décès which is issued by Civil offices. Deaths are registered by presenting a death declaration from the relevant hospital. Applicants should contact the civil office of the commune where the death occurred. 
 

Mali Marriage Certificate 

 
The Mali Marriage Certificate is called a Marriage Certificate or Acte de Mariage which is issued by Civil Office of the commune where the marriage took place. Prior to 1962, marriage by a civil official was not required. Consequently, a limited number of Malians have jugements de mariages only. These documents have the same validity as marriage certificates, but are not very common. 
 

Mali Divorce Certificate 

 
The Mali Divorce Certificate is called Divorce Decree where the issuing authority is the court of the commune in which the divorce occurred or residence of the participants. Each Commune has its own court 
 

Mali Identity Cards 

 
The Mali Identity Card is called the Carte nationale d'identité NINA. The Carte nationale d'identité NINA is Compulsory to all Malian citizens. 
 

Is Mali a member of the Hague Service Convention? 

 
Mali is not a signatory to the Hague Service Convention (Convention of 15 November 1965).
