Serbia Birth Certificate 

 
The Serbia Birth Certificate is called a Izvod iz Maticne Knjige Rodjenih which is issued by Civil Registrar ( Maticar ) with jurisdiction over the locality where the event occurred. Births in Serbia must be registered at the local Registrar’s Office within 30 days of the date of birth. Late registrations are accepted in exceptional circumstances, for example due to death or illness. A birth certificate will be issued within 10 days of the birth being registered. Non-Serbia parents must get an international birth certificate for their child. 
 

Serbia Death Certificate 

 
The Serbia Death Certificate is called a Izvod iz Maticne Knjige Umrlih which is issued by Civil Registrar (Maticar) with jurisdiction over the locality where the event occurred. Deaths in Serbia must be registered at the local Registrar’s Office within 7 days of the death and a death certificate issued. Late registrations are accepted in exceptional circumstances, for example following police involvement. Death records are held with local Registrars or police. 
 

Serbia Marriage Certificate 

 
The Serbia Marriage Certificate is called a Izvod iz Maticne Knjige Vencanih which is issued by Civil Registrar (Maticar) with jurisdiction over the locality where the event occurred. All marriages must be registered at the Local Registrars Office to be recognised legally. Marriage certificates can be issued on the same day or up to 10 days later. Marriages in Serbia must be registered within 10 days. Late registrations are accepted in exceptional circumstances. 
 

Serbia Divorce Certificate 

 
The Serbia Divorce Certificate is called Presuda o razvodu braka where the issuing authority is Basic court (Osnovni okruzni sud) which decided the case. 
 

Serbia Identity Cards 

 
The Serbia Identity Card is called the Лична карта (Identity card). The Лична карта (Identity card) is Compulsory for citizens 16 and older permanently residing in Serbia, and compulsory for non-citizens residing in Serbia. Optional for minors 10–15. Must be carried whenever in public. 
 

Is Serbia a member of the Hague Service Convention? 

 
Serbia is a signatory to the Hague Service Convention (Convention of 15 November 1965). Serbia does not object to service under Article 10(b) within its territory, Serbia objects to service under Articles 10(a) and 10( c ) within its territory.
