Sierra Leone Birth Certificate 

 
The Sierra Leone Birth Certificate is called a Certified Copy of Entry in Register of Births which is issued by irectorate of Births and Deaths. Birth certificates are issued approximately 1 month after the initial registration of the birth. Late registrations are allowed. All births in Sierra Leone must be registered within 3 months, at either: 
the hospital the birth took place 
a health centre 
a District Registrar’s office 
the place where the birth took place 
 

Sierra Leone Death Certificate 

 
The Sierra Leone Death Certificate is called a Certified Copy of Entry in Register of Deaths which is issued by Director and Deputy Director of Births and Deaths and other designated Officers. All deaths in Sierra Leone must be registered at a District Register Office within 3 months from the date of death. Late registrations are allowed. A death that is registered more than 12 months after the date of death can only be registered with the consent of the Director General. 
 

Sierra Leone Marriage Certificate 

 
The Sierra Leone Marriage Certificate is called a Marriage Certificate which is issued by Depends on type of marriage 
Civil or Christian – Certified copies of registered marriage certificates are available from the Office of the Registrar General. 
Muslim – Certificates of Muslim marriages are available from the mosque where the marriage was performed. If the marriage is also registered with civil authorities, a copy may be obtained from the Office of the Registrar General. 
Native or Customary – Certificates of Native/Customary marriage are available from the local authority that sanctioned the marriage. If the marriage is also registered with civil authorities, a copy may be obtained from the Office of the Registrar General. 
All marriages in Sierra Leone must be registered with the Office of Administrator and Registrar General (OARG) within 6 months of the date of marriage. Late registrations are allowed and must be agreed by court order. Marriages that are not registered are not considered invalid. Marriage certificates are issued for all registered marriages. 
 

Sierra Leone Divorce Certificate 

 
The Sierra Leone Divorce Certificate is called Certified copy of Divorce Decree (Civil or Christian divorce), Certificate of Divorce (Muslim divorce), Certificate of Native Divorce (Native or Customary Divorce) where the issuing authority is Depends on type of Divorce: 
Civil or Christian – Must be granted by the courts, and therefor are always registered. Certified copies of divorce decrees can be obtained from the Master and Registrar, High Court. 
Muslim – A certificate of Muslim divorce may be obtained from the mosque that sanctioned the divorce. If the divorce was also registered with the civil authorizes, a copy may be obtained from the Office of the Registrar General. 
Native/Customary – A certificate of native divorce may be obtained from the local authority that sanctioned the divorce. If the divorce was also registered with the civil authorizes, a copy may be obtained from the Office of the Registrar General.
